2026 Winter Sale Almost Over -- Save 15%
Good morning, evening, and afternoon. This is a reasonably short email reminding you:
My winter sale is almost over. Here's a short link to my programming courses: https://lcthw.dev/learn/
The sale is 15% off all courses including my Epic Supporter Pack which includes everything I've made, and will make in the future.
Also, did you know the Epic Supporter Pack is Pro-Rated? If you've already bought some of my other courses then they count as a discount when buying the Epic Support Pack.
NOTE Don't forget to scroll. It's 2026, and I know you totally know how to scroll a window with all that Brainrot you're watching. If you're not, then congratulations, but you still need to scroll when you view the courses.
Free to Read Courses
If you want to learn to code but can't afford it right now then I have two courses that are free to read:
https://learncodethehardway.com/courses/learn-go-the-hard-way/
https://learncodethehardway.com/courses/learn-javascript-the-hard-way/
Both of these are complete and will give you an initial introduction to the languages.
Videos are Fixed...Maybe?
I have spent the last two weeks tracking down and fixing an annoying bug that prevented people who purchased the Pro-Webdev project from watching the videos. I believe it's fixed, but the fix is gnarly and while it does have tests there may still be edge cases I haven't found. Please email if you can't view videos in the Pro-Webdev course.

WARNING The Pro-Webdev course does have most of the knowledge you need, but I need to create the web toolkit (see below) that you'll use in the course, so it's not as well organized as I like.
Go Web Starter Kit Improvements
As you may know (or not) I'm creating a simplified web toolkit for people who are taking the Pro-Webdev course. It's not a framework, but more just a collection of simple common tools you'd have in a web framework. It'll also have basic features such as:
- Authentication
- Email Sending via Backend Queues
- Payments with Paypal and Stripe
- A Simple Shopping Cart/Products Feature
- Helper Tools
- A Simplified Development Workflow
The goal is to not replace other frameworks you may learn, but to give you a place to learn simpler versions of all these features, and to create websites that you can actually run and deploy without much trouble. That's why it uses Go. Because Go is very easy to deploy and manage.
I stream the development of the toolkit on https://twitch.tv/zedashaw and you can come by any time to ask me about it or other questions if you want a live demo.
You can get Go Web Starter Kit at:

Discord Almost Gone
Once again, I'm shutting down the discord by the end of this month and finding something else or just chatting with you all on email. I'll have a blog post talking about why published soon.
Watch For My AI Project
This year I'm going to start a long form project related to AI. I'll be announcing it probably at the end of this month and it'll be a youtube series about AI and programming. However, it'll be probably very different from what you've seen. Stay tuned for that, and sorry to be vague but I want it to be a surprise.
How's Your Year So Far?
Finally, hopefully you're having a good year. Feel free to reply and tell me about it. How's the job market for you? How long have you been searching? I'd love to hear about people's troubles finding work as I get asked by students about this quite frequently.
Have a good one,
Zed
