Last Day for 25% Off All Programming Courses

One last notice to everyone that my 25% off sale is ending tonight...well probably around tomorrow so that everyone has a chance to get it. I've also got a few courses that have come out of the Art Guy Summer project that I'm tinkering with and may release soon. First, here's the sales pitch:

I'm running a 25% Off Sale for all of my courses during the month of July. I've been working out my video style to do a complete rework of all videos in August, and I'm finishing up work on my C++ course. If you've wanted to learn something new, then consider one of my courses. I teach people to think for their self, with nothing more than a terminal, an editor, and a programming language.

I'm going to say that anyone who feels stuck in their work should try something like my Art Guy Summer project. I'd been kind of stuck in both my game development adventures and also couldn't find a path back into making art consistently. Dedicating one month to daily practice of art has been a massive buff to my Art Stats, but it also gave me a ton of programming ideas. Just a few ideas:

  1. If ECS is basically a SQL database could I make a high speed ECS processing library? Maybe declarative?
  2. Can I really force myself to finally go through learnopengl.com or will I just rage anyway?
  3. Odin has all the graphics libraries, and Odin is a lot more like C than others, so maybe it's time to learn Odin?
  4. I very much want to make a low cost site that does nothing but tell my damn followers when I do something. Not just me, but for anyone who still thinks social media should be just a for-loop that tells everyone you did something.
  5. Maybe it's time to ditch JSON and just use sol2 for config? Could solve a few other problems but might have issues with some of my jank $variable names.
  6. I need quick easy anonymous surveys so I can ask all of you research questions. Everything I've found kind of sucks.
  7. I gotta setup streaming to Youtube and Twitch. Everything to do this sucks. Wait...I wrote this already...in C++...where is that?

Plus a ton of ideas for videos to post on Youtube, which I also would like to start doing consistently. Who knows, Video Guy Winter?

Course Ideas I'm Prototyping

There are two course ideas that I'm currently prototyping and sorting out which you may be interested in:

The Worst Blender Course in the Known Universe (Because It's an Art Course)
This one comes from the realization that the Block-in style of drawing is very well correlated with 3D Modeling. Traditionally learning to work in 3D involves working with volumes of clay, wood, stone, metal, etc. 3D Modeling though is more about working with edges and vertices, which is also what you're doing when you draw with a block-in style. I found during the whole month my only real issues with 3D modeling were Blender UI issues, and the technical aspects of topology. The actual art skill were so similar to block-in drawing that I didn't really notice until the end of the month. The idea for this course is to then teach 3D modeling and block-in style drawing as a way to learn the visual art skills that help with 3D modeling (and many other things). It's still a rough idea, but I'm sure there's something there.
Streaming for Programmers
This one is kind of a random idea but I get a few people asking me how to stream your programming. Probably a short free course of like 5-10 lessons on how to do it. My only reason for doing this is I have this really weird sense that in the near future streaming your work will become a major social sign of quality and competence.
From Impostor to Programmer
This one is far more direct and practical. I've noticed a large uptick in people who are worried they're frauds or impostors in programming. It's always been a thing but I think the rise of AI programming tools (and the hype) has made it worse. I've also wanted to dust off Learn More Python the Hard Way but couldn't really find the motivation to do it until I realized, "Wait, that's basically what an impostor needs." If you're not familiar with that course it covers many things that beginning programmers don't learn from self-education. Algorithms, ORMs, automated testing, how to organize projects, and general advice on creativity for programming. The tone of that course is much more "things an employer expects," which I think for impostors is only mildly helpful. I'm going to take that course, review it and rethink the tone, then focus on building skill as an individual so you feel confident and not a fraud.

25% Off All of These Courses

That's all for the ideas, now for the sales. Thanks for your consideration, and have a great weekend.

Epic Supporter Pack
$149.25 (was $199) Access to everything I've ever made and everything I will ever make in the future. Epic Supporter is PRORATED The price of the Epic Supporter Pack is reduced by how much you've already spent. This is a loyalty discount for everyone who's been supporting me over the years. I've added many courses just in the last two years that Epic Supporters have received for free like Learn Go and Learn C++.
Learn C the Hard Way
$21.75 (was $29) Sure, we're living in a security hellscape because of C, but how are you going to fix it if you don't know why C's so broken?! I'm working on a game dev focused update that will be free for anyone who bought in 2026.
Learn JavaScript the Hard Way
$14.25 (was $19) A simple introduction to modern JavaScript for people who hate JavaScript as much as I do. Definitely check out my lesson on callbacks and async/await.
Learn C++ the Hard Way
$7.50 (was $10) Already my favorite course to work on and my favorite language to make weird ideas. C++ may not be pretty, but hot damn does it make pretty things. This one is nearly free and Module 3 is almost done.
Learn Go the Hard Way
$11.25 (was $15) A Go course that doesn't try to make you a corporate drone. I show you how to make a terminal based Roguelike game in 5 exercises, which is definitely not Google approved.
Learn More Python the Hard Way
$21.75 (was $29) A more advanced course that covers everything from how to write good code to parsing a tiny little BASIC language. I cover data structures, algorithms, parsing, SQL databases, and many things that programmers should learn about, not just in Python.
Learn SQL the Hard Way
$15.00 (was $20) Covers the very basics of SQL and a bit of database normalization. If you find yourself muddling through your ORM of choice then this course will help you understand what's going on.

Thanks For Your Time

Once again, thank you for your time and I hope you have a great week.
